A new semester, and classes I never thought I would take. For some reason I can't stand my acting class. I think it's because my first performance class was a 300 level, write and perform your own pieces with historical context. And then the next semester I learn tongue twisters and how to play zoof. The only graded performance is a monologue. Voice and Movement is the craziest class I've ever had, but it is essential in my growth to get out of my comfort zone, head, and become aware of my presence on stage and the space around me.
The best class is play writing. I never thought I would enjoy it seeing as my main focus in the english degree is in poetry. Somehow my ten minute play is turning into something much larger. I'm not sure where it will go, but it has me looking at more options for grad school.
University of Michigan is still my top choice for their MFA in Creative Writing, but I wouldn't mind applying for both poetry and play writing at other schools and see which track I get into.
I have been neglecting this blog. I should update more when I'm not writing scenes.
